Google Newsgroups & Usenet Archive
Free viewing of newsgroups. Must register a valid e-mail address to post / reply to messages, otherwise free. This is the legacy newsgroups archive taken over from DejaNews.Com. This site offers a searchable archive that will allow a variety of searches including on newsgroup, keyword, and e-mail address. Very handy.

TeraNews.Com
In general, free (sort of...). There is now a one-time $3.95 registration service fee (credit card or check card with credit card logo required). Usage downloads limited to 50 MB per day (24 hr period). After the 50 MB limit is reached you are locked out until the following day. Most users will never reach this limit unless you are downloading a lot of binary files (images, MP3s, video clips, etc.) Larger news packages are available for a fee.
